FAQ
Common questions
Can I get an A&D assessment without enrolling in ongoing therapy?
Yes. You can receive a comprehensive alcohol and drug assessment without enrolling in ongoing psychotherapy through this practice. The assessment itself is a professional clinical service, so appropriate intake, consent, confidentiality, documentation, and recordkeeping still apply.
Can I get a SASSI screening without purchasing a full A&D assessment?
Yes. The $80 SASSI service is available as a focused screening. It is not represented as a substitute for a comprehensive clinical A&D evaluation. If the screening or your circumstances indicate that a broader assessment is appropriate, that option can be discussed separately.
Can you help me complete the required DOT SAP process?
Yes. As a DOT-qualified SAP, I can perform the SAP functions required within my professional and regulatory scope, including the initial evaluation, recommendations, follow-up evaluation, required documentation, and applicable SAP reporting. Successful completion of the SAP process does not itself guarantee employment or a particular return-to-duty outcome.
Can the DOT SAP evaluation be done online?
Yes. DOT SAP evaluations may be conducted remotely by real-time audio/video when applicable DOT requirements are met and the evaluation is permitted within the geographic and professional limits of my underlying credential.
Can you help me understand and navigate my FMCSA Clearinghouse record?
Yes. I can help you understand your Clearinghouse status, navigate the system, identify where you are in the return-to-duty process, and explain which party is responsible for the next step. I can only make Clearinghouse entries that DOT/FMCSA rules assign to the SAP; I cannot alter entries assigned to employers, C/TPAs, MROs, or other parties.
Can you help me understand DOT rules and what they mean for my situation?
Yes. I can provide DOT regulatory education, explain return-to-duty procedures and administrative responsibilities, and help you understand how the applicable process works within my professional scope. This service is educational and administrative guidance rather than legal representation or legal advice.
Can I pay for the SAP initial and follow-up evaluations separately?
Yes. The DOT SAP initial evaluation is $550 and the follow-up/final evaluation is $100. They are billed separately because the follow-up occurs only after the recommended education and/or treatment has been completed and appropriate compliance information is available.
